Jordanian Arabic is a Levantine dialect, close to Palestinian and southern Syrian speech, and it is what listeners in Amman, Irbid and Zarqa hear at home. It says هسّا for now, بدّي for I want and زلمة for a man, and a brave, decent Jordanian is a نشمي or نشمية. Choose these voices for an Amman shop promo or a social video for Jordanians. A message that must also reach the Gulf and North Africa reads better in Standard Arabic.

The letter ق says a lot about a speaker. Many Jordanian men, especially from rural and Bedouin backgrounds, say it as g, while many Ammanis, women in particular, use a glottal stop. Writers keep ق either way, so decide which sound suits your character and preview those lines. If a word keeps landing wrong, fix its reading in the pronunciation dictionary.

Tourism scripts need care with place names. Write them as Jordanians do, such as البترا for Petra and وادي رم for Wadi Rum, and listen to each one.
