Text to speech for English (Singapore) scripts

Prepare an English explanation for a course, customer service or resident notice in Singapore. Use the sentence containing the actual instruction as your first voice test. Local abbreviations and names should be checked in context. A collection label helps you find choices; it does not rewrite a message or promise that every informal phrase will work.

Choose a voice

Budi Santoso

Type or paste a short passage, choose a voice, then press Play. Listen before deciding whether to keep it. Anonymous playback has a 1,500-character limit per generation. Saving and downloading come after the account step.

Preview HDB, MRT and other abbreviations you use. Keep names such as Toa Payoh or Tampines recognisable in the written script.

Compare the available voices

This collection has 7 voices: 4 male and 3 female. Use a sentence from your actual task to compare them. A collection label is a starting point; it does not guarantee the pronunciation of every local name. There are 4 Emotional-tier voices in this collection. Their presets let you compare delivery; choose after hearing the line in context.

Filter by voice gender and quality. Quality labels are Standard, Premium and Emotional; show only options available in this collection. Choose a voice by its actual sample, rather than by the tier name alone.

Choose the right language page

For another audience, compare these regional collections and adapt the wording as well as the voice. The main English collection remains available through its existing page.

Choose the register before you choose the narrator

Match the writing to the organisation and the task. A resident notice needs a clear place, time and action. A casual promotion may use a more conversational register. Do not add particles to every sentence simply to signal that the audience is local; they should belong to the speaker and message.

Use the British-style spellings expected in your existing documents, such as colour, centre and programme. Keep the product or form labels unchanged when they appear on screen. An unfamiliar synonym can slow someone down even if the voice reads it clearly.

Abbreviations need a preview. Test HDB, MRT or another relevant term inside its instruction and decide whether it should be spoken as letters or expanded for the audience. Explain the full term where necessary, especially in material for a first-time user.

Preview local names such as Toa Payoh, Ang Mo Kio and Tampines early. If you need to fix a reading, the studio pronunciation dictionary is available on every plan. Keep the place name’s normal written form. Finally, check the date and any quantity without looking at the confirmation, so the recording does not depend on information that only exists on screen.

Practical starting scripts

  • In a skills course welcome, identify the materials and first activity. Use the same terms as the learning sheet so a spoken instruction does not introduce a second name for the task.
  • In a resident venue notice, state what has changed and where to go. Separate a temporary room change from the normal introduction to the programme.
  • In a customer help message, name the actual control and explain any unfamiliar abbreviation. Use invented details rather than a real account identifier in the demonstration.
  • In booking instructions, give the place and check-in action before background information. Test the route without the map to see which details need saying aloud.

From script to audio

  1. Paste the passage you want to hear. Keep the sentence with the awkward name or abbreviation in your first test.
  2. Pick a voice from this collection. Use this voice returns that choice to the same script tool.
  3. Press Play and listen through. After the result, save and download the MP3 with a free account. Continue in the studio for document or URL import, pronunciation editing and downloads.

What the free account includes

The Free plan includes every voice and unlimited studio previews. A free account can download its output as MP3 within its credit allowance. The allowance is 2,500 credits, given once, not renewed monthly.

Free use is for personal projects and evaluation. Commercial rights require a paid plan. If you are making a client deliverable or an advertisement, check the plan terms before using the recording. Prices on these pages are in USD. A voice preview helps you choose; it does not settle the rights for the finished project.

Before you make your recording

Compare the Singapore English options here using the actual course or service passage. You can listen before creating an account, within the page tool limit. Choose to keep the result after you have checked the local terms.

Continue from the audio result to the studio with a free account, where MP3 downloads are available within the credit allowance. Review a temporary venue instruction before saving it as the next version of a recurring notice.

All voices are included with Free, alongside unlimited studio previews. Compare the line containing the abbreviation before generating the course file. The credit allowance applies to that new output.

The collection lists its actual male and female availability. Preview the same venue or service instruction with the options. A different filter does not add voices or establish a particular colloquial style.

Commercial service recordings need the rights included in paid plans. Free is suitable for personal use and evaluation. Decide from the use of the finished recording rather than from its download format.

Spell out an unclear booking date or amount, and decide how reference numbers should be heard. Preview any abbreviation next to the figure. For consistent readings, the studio pronunciation dictionary is available on every plan.

The voice reads the words you provide; it does not choose the register for you. Write informal phrases only where they fit, then preview them in context. For a formal explanation, clear standard English may serve the task better. Avoid treating a local label as a guarantee of every colloquial reading.

First decide whether your audience knows the abbreviation. Expanding it may make the instruction clearer. If the short form is necessary, test how the selected voice reads it within the sentence, then set a fixed studio reading if needed. Check the rest of the passage after the change.

Listen2It is an AI audio suite: voiceover, dubbing, music, and sound effects, with a multi-track editor. For an existing recording, explore dubbing; its supported languages are a separate list from these voices. You can also explore voice changing, voice cloning, pricing or all languages. Choose the tool for the material you already have: written script or recorded speech.
